On the fourth day of Giving Tuesday my Piedmont shared with me FOUR  new degree programs. PIU launched four new bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Interdisciplinary Studies, and a Masters degree in Bible Exposition. We also expanded the Bible and Ministry programs with a new 36-hour MA in Biblical Studies with plans to soon add a scholarly ThM allowing transfer options into our PhD in Leadership.

The Bachelor of Business Administration is designed to expose students to the theories and practices of business organizations operating within a global economy. Students are expected to gain an understanding of business disciplines including management, leadership, accounting, marketing, finance, strategy, and international business. The course will also equip students with valuable professional skills – business writing, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and digital literacy.

The Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice provides a broad overview of the criminal justice system, including legislation, law enforcement, courts, corrections, national security, and terrorism. The degree will necessarily entail insights from an array of cognate disciplines including psychology, sociology, economics, law, and IT. The program will also engage with a range of complex cutting-edge social issues across human rights, race relations, and immigration. The mission of this degree program is to provide students with a strong liberal arts education with an emphasis on criminal justice theory and practice. In contrast to other competitor programs, the PIU Criminal Justice degree is distinguished by an emphasis on work-integrated learning and experiential education.

The Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies can be completed with a Major or Minor to suit students’ academic interests and professional aspirations. Piedmont International University offers a number of major and minor options including Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Information Systems, Social Work, Public Health, and various disciplines in the humanities or ministry.

The Master of Arts in Bible Exposition program is designed for those interested in serious study of the Bible and desire to teach and to preach the Word of God by using accurate exegesis, sound hermeneutics, and effective homiletics.

“GivingTuesday” is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world on December 3, 2019 and every day.

It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past seven years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.” – givingtuesday.org
